One of Philadelphia’s most vibrant and eclectic culinary hotbeds is getting much-deserved limelight for the fourth installment of the Night Market series that began on East Passunk in South Philly back in October 2010 and continued to increased acclaim in University City and Mt. Airy.
This edition will feature food trucks you’ve never seen before and Asian foods you’ve never tasted before, plus live music, lion dancing and Asian arts.
Quest Loves Food
AND it will feature the public debut of Questlove’s food project, titled Quest Loves Food. For this edition of the Night Market, Questlove is partnering with Philly Homegrown to debut his signature dish, “The ? Drumstick” — a gourmet piece of fried chicken (the drumstick naturally), made with locally sourced Lancaster County chicken and bursting with Creole flavoring.
Since the dish will no longer be debuting at this weekend’s Popped! Festival, Night Market attendees will be some of the first in the world with the opportunity to saver Questlove’s take on fried chicken. Proceeds from “The ? Drumstick” will benefit The Food Trust.
And be sure to look out for the Philly Homegrown photo booth where you can strike a pose with your favorite local food props!
