It’s the Last Meet the Cheesemaker Happy Hour of the Year

Local cheese lovers, you’ll want to mark your calendars for this one. Friday, December 17th marks the final Meet the Cheesemaker Happy Hour of the year at the Fair Food Farmstand. This month, the Miller family from Chester County’s Birchrun Hills Farm will be at the talking about their cheesemaking process and offering samples of their creamy Birchrun Blue, the oh-so-stinky Fat Cat and the robust Red Cat.

Bill Covaleski of Victory Brewing Company will also be on hand, pairing his fiesty brews with all those delightful tastes from Birchrun Hills. Expect to see some Victory favorites like Storm King Stout, Old Horizontal Barleywine and Golden Monkey. Just the thing for a cold winter night (Friday is supposed to be a bit warmer than it’s been recently, but the forecast is only calling for the temperature to be a few ticks over freezing).

In honor of this final cheesy happy hour, the Farmstand also has a few limited edition cheeses in from Birchrun. Pick up a wedge of Clipper (an aged hard cheese with concentrated flavor) or the Thunder Cat (Red Cat treated with a wash of Victory’s Baltic Thunder porter). You can also pick up some of the new cheese spreads from Birchrun that are brilliant for those holiday parties. Flavors include Honey & Sea Salt Spread or Garlic & Sun Dried Tomato Spread.
