Turn Your Christmas Tree into Mulch for the Walnut Hill Community Farm

The holidays are well behind us now, and that massive evergreen that brought so much joy this year is now drooping and dropping needles all over your living room. Instead of setting it curbside for trash pick-up, consider hauling it over to Clark Park (43rd and Chester Ave) this Saturday, January 9th. UC Green will be there from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., transforming forlorn trees into mulch. There is a suggested donation of $5 per tree, to help cover the costs of the chipping.

The mulch they create will be taken to the Walnut Hill Community Farm and used come planting time. There’s nothing like the cycle of life to give one hope for a new year.
