Talula’s Garden to Open in Former Washington Square Location in April

The space that will house this new restaurant, during its Washington Square days

We’re so excited by the way that the hyper-local trend is taking off in Philly right now. Earlier this week, we heard about the plans for the nano-brewery at The Farmers’ Cabinet. Now reports are coming in that Aimee Olexy, former owner of Bellavista’s Django and current owner of the much-heralded Talula’s Table, has partnered with Stephen Starr to bring a new restaurant to the Washington Square neighborhood of town.

This new spot will be called Talula’s Garden and is a garden-to-table concept. The garden is question is one that will be planted onsite and will provide some vegetables and many of the herbs used by the restaurant. What’s more, we hear they will be offering a wide array of amazing cheeses. Here’s hoping some of our stellar local cheesemakers will have a place in the program.

This new restaurant will live in the spot that once housed Starr’s Washington Square restaurant, on the west side of the eponymous square. They play to open in April.
