Plenty
East Passyunk’s Plenty is the 21st century’s version of the old-school deli. Handmade cured meats and perfect local produce abound.
It’s the most historic and arguably the most touristed of Philly’s markets, and Reading Terminal is also the city’s single best place to source area eats. Opened in 1892 below the Reading train shed, the Market was revitalized in 1985 and has since become a major foodie destination for residents and visitors alike.
Vendors sell everything from Pennsylvania produce, eggs and meat to Amish baked goods and pickles to Philly specialties like cheesesteaks and Famous Fourth Street cookies while events showcase and celebrate regional delicacies.
With the addition of the Fair Food Farmstand, which specializes in connecting shoppers with small sustainable area farms and producers, Reading Terminal is more local-centric than ever.
