Rineer Family Farms, LLC is one of the regions premiere growing companies. The Rineer farm is a preserved 110-acre family farm complete with pastures for cattle grazing and fields sprouting with fruits, vegetables, and herbs. Daryl and Kate Rineer till this land in Southern Lancaster County, and have worked hard to ensure the farm will forever be preserved as an agricultural space (by the Lancaster Farmland Trust).
The family makes their produce and beef available at six farmers markets in the region, including Rittenhouse Square (Tuesdays 9:30-1), South and Passyunk (Tuesdays 3-7:00), Chestnut Hill (Saturdays 9:30-1:30), and Jefferson Hospital Farmers Market (Thursdays 11-4:00). In addition, the Fair Food Farmstand at the Reading Terminal Market and a few restaurants in the area utilize Rineer freshly-picked produce. The Rineer Family boasts their non-hybridized heirloom tomatoes, like the “Brandywine” or the “Cherokee Purple,” as some of their most favorite pickings.
