For those who like to eat as locally as possible, this winter has been a tough one. Those hardy greens that sustain so many of us through the winter disappeared from the markets back in December and the last month, it’s been cabbage or nothing.
Happily, Greensgrow Farms is ready to relieve the monotony, with an array of kale, chard and baby spinaches, grown right there in their Fishtown greenhouse. Their every-other-week farm market will be open this Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., so get yourself up there and pick up some fresh, hyper-local greens.
They’ll also have fresh rosemary, baby fennel, all the usual root vegetables, squashes and a dairy case bursting with cheese, butter, milk and more. Polish Goodness Pierogies will also be on site, hawking their handmade delicacies.
