A one-man farm on 53 acres outside of Lancaster, Culton Organics specializes in organic (though not officially certified) heirloom produce, especially rare and endangered varieties.
Tom Culton often travels to Europe to study farming methods and seek out new seeds. The resulting bounty of Culton Organics includes over 700 species of cardoons, globe artichokes, fraises de bois, 63 varieties of garlic, edamame, tomatillos, sunchokes, currants, chestnuts, medicinal herbs, popcorn and much more.
Culton’s unusual offerings have attracted the attention of chefs like Marc Vetri, Daniel Stern and Tom Colicchio. Culton Organics produce can be found at Headhouse Farmer’s Market, The Central Market in Lancaster and the Piazza at Schmidt’s.
