Chef Charles “Chip” Roman had an auspicious start in the regional Philadelphia food scene. He began with a widely successful catering company in Philadelphia suburb, Conshohocken, followed by the opening his flagship restaurant, Blackfish. His newest outpost, Mica, is a 35-seat progressive American-style restaurant located in Chestnut Hill, just 10 miles north of Philadelphia’s city center.
Mica’s menu is seasonal and changes almost daily to accommodate local ingredients. Known for its multi-course chef’s tasting, Mica also has a robust a la carte menu for those not ready to commit to a full 5 or 7 courses. However, we should note, the tasting menu is a special experience that truly showcases Roman’s creativity in the kitchen. Local Philadelphia Inquirer food critic, Craig Laban, recently bestowed three bells on Mica, stating that it ‘could potentially become one of the region’s best’ restaurants.
Mica also offers brunch on Sunday’s from 10:30AM – 2:00PM. More on Mica’s brunch here.
