
Chef Chris Scarduzio hails from West Philadelphia. Growing up in a rowhome with 16 members of his extended Italian family, his interest in the food of his people was nurtured and encourage. Upon graduating from the Culinary Institute of America, Scarduzio became the inaugural chef for the Grill Room at the Ritz Carlton-Philadelphia. During his time at the Ritz, the restaurant received a place on Conde Nast Traveler’s top 25 restaurants in the U.S.
In 1997, Chef Scarduzio partnered with acclaimed Chef Georges Perrier to open Brasserie Perrier. The restaurant was well-received during its 12-year tenure on Walnut Street. His second venture with Chef Perrier was popular Atlantic City eatery, Mia at Caesar’s Palace. Mia was also voted Atlantic City’s Hottest and Best New Restaurant by Philadelphia Magazine in 2006.
Chef Scarduzio’s highly regarded Table 31 is located in the Comcast Center. Opened in 2008, the restaurant is traditional steakhouse meets modern Italian cuisine. Menu offerings range from house-made cavatelli to paprika-rubbed Delmonico steak topped with a truffled Kennett Square mushroom and leek fondue. If you want Table 31 but prefer to dine alfresco, look no further than The Plaza Café. Located outside at the Comcast Center, it is open year-round.
Chef Scarduzio is currently working on opening a new restaurant and lounge at the Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ. The restaurant is “Scarduzio’s” and will specialize in steaks and sushi.
