Want to get up close and personal with Iron Chef Jose Garces? Here’s your chance: Garces will be appearing at the Free Library for a very special Author Event on Monday, October 15 at 7:30 p.m.

He’ll be interviewed on stage by Michael Klein, Philadelphia Inquirer Table Talk columnist and editor/producer of philly.com/food.

They’ll be discussing Garces’ latest cookbook, The Latin Road Home: Savoring the Foods of Ecuador, Spain, Cuba, Mexico and Peru.

And it’s free! No tickets or reservations are required, but seating is first come, first served, so plan ahead. It’s not every day you get to rub elbows with a James Beard Award winner and Food Network star.

Author Events take place downstairs in the Free Library Central Branch’s auditorium.

For more on Garces’ restaurants in Philadelphia — Amada, Chifa, Tinto, JG Domestic, Garces Trading Company, Village Whiskey, Distrito — follow our coverage here.
