BYOB Cheese Happy Hour at Wedge + Fig on Friday and Saturday Evenings

Like so many city dwellers, I live in an apartment that is entirely without access to the outdoors. During the winter, this is not such a bad thing, but not when summer comes. I long for a spot where I could sit outside with a few friends and a bottle of wine without spending a fortune or running the risk of getting rousted by the PPD.

Happily, Wedge + Fig is has arrived and has brought with it the solution for my wine drinking conundrum. wedge + fig is a new cafe/cheese bistro on 3rd Street in Old City (they’re in the space where the Old City Cheese Shop once stood) with a lovely dining room and an even more amazing back garden area. In addition to their lunch and brunch hours, they’re now staying open on Friday and Saturday evenings until 9:30 p.m. for those who want to sit with a few cheeses and a bottle from home.

Their evening menu features an array of snacks (including marcona almonds and gorgonzola-port balls), crostini (parmigiano-reggiano and pear paste!), cheese pairings (creamy pierre robert with candied bacon!) and cheese plates designed to go with a variety of wine styles.

If you stop into Wedge + Fig for their cheese happy hour in the next two weeks and mention Philly Homegrown, they’ll give you $3 off any three cheese platter. This offer is good through Saturday, July 9 so hurry down and order up a cheese plate.
