Andrew Gerson of Strada Pasta, the mobile food truck serving traditional Northern Italian egg pastas, continues his pop-up dinner series this Saturday, June 30 at the Mt. Airy commissary he recently opened with Pitrucco Pizza earlier this year. Gerson has also been busy helping to organize mobile food vendors in the Philly Mobile Food Association.
This BYOB event will focus on local ingredients, good food and community gathering around one long communal table. Gerson’s refreshing, sweet and savory five-courser is worth the trip just outside of Center City.
Serving up to 20 guests, the one-seating-only menu features roasted vegetable focaccia, pineapple and cucumber gazpacho, squash and zucchini “pasta” with herbed tomato sauce, gnocchi and summer pea puree and summer fruit crumble with honey minted whipped cream for dessert. Our mouths are watering.
And if you miss this one, be sure to catch another event this season as Gerson plans to host several more weekly dinners throughout the summer starting in July with the hopes of introducing an outdoor garden setting into the mix.
