Amaranth Gluten-Free Bakery

Toothsome baked goods that even the allergic can eat

Lancaster resident Kristen Ippolito encountered many people who wanted to cut gluten out of their diets but couldn’t find good substitutes, especially for bread. Inspired, she researched gluten-free grains and developed her own recipes for tempting baked goods that are crusty and fluffy in all the right places and convincing enough to win over wheat-eaters.

Her product line now includes hearty sandwich bread in an array of flavors (cinnamon, 4-grain, cheddar herb), pumpkin spice muffins, black bottom cupcakes, dinner and sandwich rolls, bialies, focaccia, flatbreads and cookies.

Amaranth baked goods can be purchased online, at the Lancaster retail storefront, at select groceries or at the Rittenhouse Square, Northern Liberties, Headhouse Square and Bryn Mawr farmer’s markets.
